SCENEIGMA (“the game”, “we”, “us”) is a daily film guessing game run by Sceneigma. You can contact us at sceneigma@gmail.com. We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us the “controller” of it.
If you play without signing in: nothing about you is sent to us. Your progress (results, streak, top score and settings) is saved only in your own browser.
If you sign in, we store:
If you use friend groups, we also store the name you choose to show on leaderboards, the groups you create or join, and your membership of them. Other members of a group can see your chosen name and your daily scores. Please don’t use your real full name if you’d rather not share it.
Technical data: like any website, the services that deliver the game (see section 4) process your IP address and basic request details in order to send you the pages and data you ask for.
We don’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we don’t sell your data.
The game saves information in your browser’s local storage so it can remember your progress, and, if you sign in, your sign-in session. This is necessary for the game to work. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
We use these services to run the game. They process data on our behalf:
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK or EU. Where they do, they should use appropriate safeguards. Our database is hosted in West EU (Ireland).
We keep your account data until you delete your account. Data saved only in your browser stays until you clear it.
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how it’s used, or receive a copy of it.
You can also email sceneigma@gmail.com for any request. If you’re in the UK and aren’t happy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
The game isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we’ll remove the account.
